More is More? Swiss restraint is definitely not what you'll find here. Bold, striking, and uncompromising, the renowned art and architectural duo Lang/Baumann makes a case for more courage. More courage for large-scale geometric abstraction and Pop Art; more courage to stage spaces and brands through distinctive temporary installations.
Their radical transformation of the Swiss mountain village of Vercorin through luminous info-lines drew international attention, while elsewhere colour bands, fingers of light, massive tubes, inflatable elements, and absurd staircase constructions guide eyes and minds in new directions, breathing new life into museums, exhibitions, and product presentations alike. Through their interventions in existing architecture, Lang/Baumann have polarised audiences, set clear signals, and left a lasting mark in Switzerland and beyond.
Designed by NORM, the book offers a kaleidoscopic look into Lang/Baumann's innovative spatial work by mirroring each page across its facing spread. Complemented by behind-the-scenes material on the initial ideas and their realisation, it gives a glimpse into project plans, renderings, analyses, and technical drawings.
