Grand Palais A–Z: Ein ABC der Offkultur

This alphabetically structured publication about the exhibition space Grand Palais in Bern, Switzerland summarises the work of the off-space during the period in which it was run by Juliane Wolski together with friends, collaborators and co-curators, while also reflecting on the broader conditions of off-culture and artist-run practice in general. The A–Z format creates a lexicon-like sequence of keywords through which multiple contributors present short texts, essays and visual documentation that revisit exhibitions, collaborations and debates shaping the program of Grand Palais over the years. At the same time, the publication sketches a broader portrait of Bern’s off-space scene, touching on questions of curatorial practice, self-organisation, institutional proximity and the economic and social realities of running independent art initiatives.
