Nozomi Aoyama: The Shapes of the Heart

The first published work by graphic designer Nozomi Aoyama.
The heart, often depicted as a heart shape, is here defined as a circle. Through various lines and colors—perfect circles, distorted circles, splitting circles, circles intersecting with triangles and squares—the artist meticulously explores the fluctuating state of the mind using colored pencils.
The unique colors created by risograph printing reveal unexpected misregistrations, and these accidental variations seem to reflect the ever-changing nature of the heart.
