Paul Klee – Handzeichnungen II: 1921–1936 is a comprehensive catalogue of drawings by the Swiss-German artist Paul Klee, published by the Kunstmuseum Bern and edited by art historian Jürgen Glaesemer. The volume documents Klee’s works on paper from the period 1921 to 1936, a crucial phase that spans his Bauhaus years and the later developments of his mature style.
With over 500 pages and numerous illustrations, the book functions as a catalogue raisonné, systematically listing and reproducing the drawings held by the museum. Each work is accompanied by catalogue information and scholarly documentation, offering insight into Klee’s techniques, themes, and evolving visual language during this period.
Part of the multi-volume Sammlungskataloge des Kunstmuseums Bern, the publication contributes to the long-term scholarly effort to document Klee’s oeuvre. Together with the other volumes—covering earlier drawings and later works—it forms an important reference for researchers, collectors, and institutions studying Klee’s prolific output in drawing and works on paper.
