Vase Shapes reflects on vases collected by «Goods» across various places over time. Alongside newly commissioned artworks by artist Ayaka Sanuki, created based on these vases, the book gathers fragmentary texts related to vases and flowers. Each vase, once separated from its original owner, carries a distinct character: unique pieces, reproductions, DIY objects, antiques, fragile items, and even unknowable things whose basic information can no longer be traced. The book attempts to reconsider these objects through a fresh lens, drawing new contours around them. It also functions as a deliberately unhelpful «Goods» catalogue, introducing the items through oblique descriptions and explanations rather than straightforward documentation.
